Scenic Annapurna
A truly, Beautiful, Cultural & Scenic hiking trip, in the Annapurna Foothills
3 Nights in Kathmandu/2 Days spent in the Lakeside city of Pokhara/6 Days trekking
NEPAL

SCENERY, FLOWERS, MOUNTAINS & CULTURE! Yes, these are the focus of our "Scenic Annapurna" trip. The Adventurous Trekker understands your need for a break from work and other demands, but also realizes not everyone has loads of time to travel. So we've set up this trip for those of you that are avid day hikers without a lot of time. Not only will you take a luxury-hiking trip, but also you will stay in some of the nicest hotels Nepal has to offer! This is a real vacation and we do our best to keep you comfortable.

Your adventure starts once you land in Nepal's capital city of Kathmandu. An Adventurous Trekker staff member will await your arrival and take you to one of our favorite hotels, located in the tourist center of Thamel. A get acquainted party will be organized for your first night and the next morning one of our staff will take everyone on a "city tour". During your tour you will visit some of Kathmandu's most important temples and monasteries, along with a visit to Bhaktapur the only remaining walled city in Kathmandu valley.

After a couple of days checking out Kathmandu, we'll take a short flight to Pokhara, the third largest city in Nepal, but possibly the most beautiful. Pokhara sits on a picturesque lake and like a mirror reflects the austere white snow of the Annapurna Himal in its waters. Once in Pokhara we'll go for an afternoon boat ride. From the boat many villages, flora and fauna can be seen that isn't visible anywhere else in this area.

During your time in Pokhara you will be staying at the newly designed "Trek-O-Tel", which sits right across from the lake and walking distance from restaurants and shopping. We will spend one night in Pokhara before setting off for the small roadside village of Nayapul, the starting point of our trek. The journey starts with terraced farms and mysterious valleys of bamboo. In the distance, snow capped peaks get closer with each footstep, as we hike toward our goals of Ghorapani and Poon Hill. As we climb ever higher the lowland vegetation gives way to the most incredible display of Rhododendron trees imaginable. During the spring months of April and May the tapestry of colors range anywhere from reds to whites, that flow across the hillsides. Possibly the largest display of Rhododendron blooms in the world! From Ghorapani, a view of the entire Annapurna mountain range is spread out before you, with peaks white against the dark blue sky. If you're an early riser, it's only a 45-minute hike to the summit of Poon Hill for that once in a lifetime photo. As the sun rises, the mountains turn from dark blues to blazing oranges and reds - until finally turning bright white against the sky.

After Ghorapani, we hike along a ridgeline for 4 days with many more impressive views and flowers, as we follow the Annapurna mountain range back to Pokhara. Once finished trekking we will return to the Trek-O-Tel in Pokhara for one last night. During your last day in Pokhara you will be free to wander through the many souvenir shops and bookstores. The next morning after breakfast we will depart Pokhara and take the short flight back to Kathmandu. You will be free to do as you'd like with the rest of the day.

After breakfast on your last day our staff will escort everyone to their departure flights with detailed instructions on airport departure procedures.

Difficulty: Moderate
Hours spent hiking each day: 5 - 6 over hilly terrain.
This trek is great for anyone with a good level of fitness. You must have previous experience day hiking on dirt, rocky and mountainous terrain. This is not a fast paced trek, but a hike to witness the culture and visual beauty of this unusual region.

Reasons to take your next trek with us.
01) We pay our staff fare wages, which have been determined by the non-profit watch-dog group, Porters Progress.

02) Each group is equipped with a state of the art water purifier, instead of taking the chance with boiled water.

03) Our pricing is inclusive, that means you pay one price which includes everything, except what is on the "What isn't Included" list.

04) We can arrange discounted international airfare, at no extra charge.

05) The right staff can make all the difference in having a good or bad trek. Our staff is dedicated and has been working with us for the last eight years. Our guides are highly trained and understand western standards and needs.

06) Safety is our first concern. That is why we keep our group sizes small, so no one is over looked if they are not feeling their best. We also bring enough staff along to assure that if your not feeling well you'll be taken care of by a highly trained person. We never leave our members behind during a trek, but instead try to meet them on the return or have them catch back up to us when they're feeling better. You will never be left alone and unattended on an Adventurous Trekker trek.
